Uniciti ambitions to develop a state of the art teaching hospital (Centre Hospitalier Universitaire) to provide the resident population and people from surrounding areas with access to quality medical care while relieving the burden on existing hospitals. Operating as an integrated university-affiliated medical centre with the prestigious Paris Descartes University, the facility is also expected to provide an instrumental contribution to making Mauritius the Medical Knowledge Hub for Africa.

A specialised and private medical centre is also expected and should contribute to provide additional quality services and facilities to the inhabitants of Mauritius.
